Expertise
What brought me to organizing? Supporting children and families is my passion and over the years I’ve come to realize that organizing is too! My work as a parent coach gives me insight into how to help families evaluate their unique needs while improving upon the skills and abilities of each family member. My experience as a teacher allows me to help parents and children develop systems to manage the never-ending school paper dilemma, develop homework routines, and create plans for accountability and independence for the student.

Benefits of organizing
There are many reasons why we get bogged down with clutter and disorganization. Whatever the cause, we can create a reordered life by getting out from under the growing piles and overwhelmed feelings. By gaining control over chaos, you will free up time to spend on activities and interactions with your family that create aliveness and harmony. You will gain self-confidence in knowing you have the skills necessary to create the environment you love to live in. By doing this you decrease stress and frustration for yourself and the entire family.
Organizing process
We will meet for an initial site assessment to discuss the room or project you’d like to organize. During this time I will gather information about the physical space in addition to learning more about your preferences and motivators.
I will ask questions such as:
- How do you envision the space being used?
- What roadblocks or issues have gotten in the way of your
best attempts to get organized? - What IS working well in the space?
Once I know how you want to use the space, we will work together to develop strategies and ideas for ways to organize and maximize the space for ease and accessibility. Finally, with a plan in place, I will work along side you to clear the clutter, clean, and organize so the project or space is ready to function as you dreamed it would!
How long will this take? Being organized is a process. As with all change, it takes time. The systems we create for you will be maintained over time as your new habits settle into place. My services include a follow-up consultation and additional coaching to make sure the systems are working and you are satisfied with the results.
Philosophy
I believe that all households can be organized to maximize the use of space and streamline routines in ways that fit with the particular style of each family. The strategies and solutions designed for one family will not necessarily work for another as each is unique. Creativity is vital in our collaboration toward organization and in creating systems that you can maintain. Organizing is a process, and the skills used are ones that anyone can learn. I encourage and provide support as you progress toward your goals…we will have fun getting there!
You don’t need a huge budget for products. I believe in using items for organization that you already have rather than buying new systems. We will look around your house for these supplies. What we find may serve the perfect purpose when used as part of an organizational plan. If new supplies are needed, I will offer suggestions and specific products you might use. You will decide what to purchase. The final decisions are always yours.
Another of my priorities is to help children become part of the organizing process. The environment can be set up to encourage children’s involvement. From a very early age they can be taught how to participate in household chores. If you want to start a new system with older children the change happens gradually, but it can still happen! If we as parents view household work as another important life skill, we can build in the necessary teaching to enlist our children in participating in the process of staying organized. This is part of my goal as I help you create systems of organization and management in your home that reduce daily conflict and create more harmony.
